British Summertime in my Parent’s Garden

July 18, 2018

I’ve had a stressful year this year, and it’s been rather hard to escape the hustle of London and relax properly. This summer I decided to schedule a week at my parent’s cottage in Cambridgeshire and give my body and brain a bit of respite. While here, I wanted to dust off my camera and start to learn how to shoot and edit photos properly. I have always loved flower photography, and my parent’s garden, although a little tired from the summer heatwave, has always been one of my ‘happy places’.

My Mum’s garden ornaments remind me so much of my childhood, we’ve had them for as long as I can remember and they have survived every house move (and there have been many) that my parent’s have made over the years.

However, my favourite part of the cottage garden, and the most recent addition, is my Dad’s self-made vegetable patch. So far we’ve eaten home grown rhubarb, in a cake of course, and some little potatoes which were so much more delicious than anything you can buy in a supermarket. I cannot wait to move into our flat with our little London garden and begin growing some of my own fruit and veg.
